Since 1996, Aparajita Mahila Sangh has been on an undefeated journey of creating sustainable opportunities and bringing positive social change to grassroots communities.
Development is a continuous process. In the 21st century, social changes are happening everywhere as communities adopt the best life practices for their wellbeing.
Social change means bringing a shift in traditional culture by customizing or removing outdated traditions and adopting positive behaviors. It is one of the toughest tasks and requires a highly focused approach to instill positive thoughts into the community.
"The word ‘Aparajita’ means ‘Undefeated’. It truly represents the effort of social change makers and is the core motivation for Aparajita Mahila Sangh."
History proves that true social change happens because of strong determination, dedication, and the positive attitude of change makers. Our core objective is to bring these changes to the community for the betterment of life with an undefeatable fighting spirit.
The seeds of Aparajita Mahila Sangh were laid down in the year 1996-97 through a community development program implemented by FWWB and the Municipal Corporation of Indore.
Under this initiative, several women's Self Help Groups (SHGs) were formed. These groups were eventually converted into an SHG federation in the year 2001, officially named ‘Aparajita Mahila Sangh’.
Starting with a fighting spirit to bring social change and promote women's livelihood in Indore, this small plant gradually grew into a large tree with multiple branches. Today, our operational area spans across central and western Madhya Pradesh, with a definitive aim to serve the entire country and support grassroots communities in all development sectors.
Aparajita has adopted the Self Help Group (SHG) model as the primary tool for community development.
This strategy not only demonstrates visible change in society but also ensures the positive involvement of male members in all future community activities.
To create a just, equitable, and empowered society where women and marginalized communities have equal opportunities, access to resources, and a strong voice in decision-making, leading to holistic and sustainable development.
To empower women socially and economically by building their capacities through livelihood generation, financial literacy, skill development, and awareness programs, enabling them to lead undefeatable, self-reliant lives.
